Rebates are available based on property system size, up to $4,000 per home and a total of $100,000 per property owner per calendar year. Applications open on July 2, 2024, and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.

Before June 25, 2024: Homeowners installing solar on a residential property must complete an EnerGuide Home Energy Evaluation.
After June 25, 2024: Owners of multi-unit residential properties can install solar.

The City of Edmonton agrees to pay the following rates for Part I applications received prior to June 25, 2024, after they receive Part II approval:

Existing Residential Properties

Up to $0.40 per watt

New Residential Properties

Up to $0.30 per watt

The City of Edmonton agrees to pay the following rate for Part I applications received after June 25, 2024, after they receive Part II approval:

both New and Existing Multi Unit Residential Properties

Up to $0.50 per watt

These incentives will be issued based on the total installed system capacity up to a maximum amount of 40% of the total Eligible Expenses or $4,000 per Dwelling located within an eligible Residential Property, whichever is lesser.
